Candid III makes use of binaural 3D audio, which is only effective when listening through headphones.

Candid III is an exploration of auditory horizons by composer, musician, and sound designer Alban Schelbert. The EP is an acousmatic tryptich featuring performances by Tenzin Yeshe Gyaltag, Hanne Lippard, and Kim-Lillian Strebel. Capturing voices with and without a determinable origin, it is a juxtaposition of the "authentic" and "sincere" characteristics of the human voice with its altered, disembodied and "inauthentic" counterpart. From chant-like murmurs, to spoken poems and sung falsettos the source material is fragmented, altered, rearranged and captured in various stages of alienation. Experienced similar to the sonic exposure of an ancient tribunal or mantra-circle, Candid III creates an immersive listening environment within which some sounds become embodied while others remain hidden and opaque. Alongside his own practice in music and sound design, Alban Schelbert composes music for film, visual, and performance art.
